Description
Potatoes, an important food staple in 1800 Ireland. The Great Famine of 1845 begins, leaving many to starve, lose their lands and move away. The Stewarts, being able to stay, help others in their own way as any good Christian would. Follow this family on their incredible two year journey as they eventually leave Ireland for the Americas, only to arrive in Nova Scotia. A test of faith, kindness and courage, this tale is created from stories shared down from generation to generation. Author Joan Newcomb shares her family history with many scriptures from the Bible. Enjoy reading a look into the past in this twelve part series.
