Religion has always played a role in John William Swank's life. As a young boy, he attended a Methodist church, and as a teenager, he accepted Jesus into his life. He later enlisted and spent four years in the US Navy. Shortly after he returned home, he became a Sunday school teacher and lay speaker. When Swank and his family moved to Florida in 1973, he began attending a Southern Baptist church, where he served as Sunday school department director, lay leader, outreach director, and an interfaith director. He became a deacon in 1982. Swank's works include Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, an examination of false religions, and 1984's All Things New!, which is currently on its third printing. Swank worked for a major corporation for over thirty years and is an avid coin collector. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna, and they currently reside in Florida.
