Inside Grammie's Closet is a caregiving memoir by a grand-daughter, turned M.A. Gerontologist, that is laced with humor, old-time stories and grand memories. Grammie was the daughter of a suffragette, once a Flapper in the Roaring Twenties, associated with celebrities, was a horsewoman, a catalyst for aging legislation, and said that she "always was a star...just now, everyone else is finding out." Together they face many of Grammie's medical issues, including dementia and cardiac illnesses. Inside Grammie's Closet includes a 21-tip Guide for Caregivers, and respite caregivers. It is a resource for caregivers, families, friends, business people, and students who face caregiving issues in their lives. The aging journey isn't for the faint at heart but in can be viewed with acceptance and dignity as this book reveals. Aging isn't a matter of if, but a matter of when, and Inside Grammie's Closet weaves the tale of how one grand-daughter, and her gracious grandmother went through the aging journey together.

Laura Guluzzy, M.A. Gerontologist, is a co-founder of Silver Lining Supportive Services, a helpline for seniors, and has a passion for helping them to live their best quality of life throughout the aging process. It began with her own experience of becoming a caregiver for her grandmother who had dementia. Laura obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Human Services, with Counseling and Administration concentrations, and a minor in Psychology from Notre Dame De Namur University. She has been an active community volunteer and has served in many organizations. Laura's interest in how different generations of people communicate with one another led her to develop intergenerational communication training programs for high school and undergraduate levels, and complete a Masters in Gerontology from San Francisco State University. She consults and lectures on Caregiving, Falls Management & Prevention, Intergenerational Communication & Technology, Aging & Diversity, and Aging-Friendly Cities (development and planning following World Health Organization guidelines). Laura Guluzzy is a second generation native Californian who now resides in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and is married to Don Guluzzy for over 30 years. They have raised (or rescued) four dogs. The current joy of their lives is Taro Chip who likes to be called T.C., or Boo-Boo, because he IS smarter than the average bear.
