Description

The 1980s were marked not only by momentous historical events, but also by dramatic shifts in how television news was gathered, presented and perceived. Special Edition: A Guide to Network Television Documentary Series and Special News Reports, 1980-1989 is the second of two volumes which, when taken together, provide a comprehensive overview of network television news documentary, news magazine and special news programming broadcast over ABC, CBS, and NBC from the 1950s through the 1980s.

This volume provides information on over 2400 individual programs broadcast from January 1980 through December 1989 and, like the first, includes program content descriptions; network and airdate; production and technical personnel credits; and other relevant facts concerning each broadcast. The book includes separate indexes for individual program and segment titles; production and technical personnel; and prominent subjects and places; and prominent people whose names appear in programs listed in the first two sections.
